Let’s try to help you out and list our favorite spots to take the kids to next year.
Iceland
If you want to take the kids on an adventure, Iceland is an amazing destination to consider. It’s one of the most stunning countries on the planet, so if you want to spend a lot of time outdoors, you’ll love every second of your vacation. Note that Iceland might not be the best destination for really small children, but kids over 7 would be able to enjoy it to the fullest.
Some of the locations you will definitely want to check out include the famous Blue Lagoon, where you can enjoy the hot springs. You can also go snorkeling in the Silfra Fissure if you’re feeling particularly adventurous. There are countless hikes to take around some of nature’s most stunning landscapes. And, of course, you don’t want to miss the glorious Northern Lights!
Italy
Italy is a country that has something to offer for everyone. You can relax and explore, and focus on numerous things that make vacations fun: food, swimming, history, exploration. Italy is a great destination for kids of all ages. If they are slightly older, you can take them to the museums and art galleries. If they are very young, they will enjoy the beaches and the cuisine. You can take a tour of some of the country’s most famous cities, like Rome, Florence, Venice, and Milan. Or, you can head down to either of the Italian coasts and have some fun in the sun.
Since you can find a cheap flight to Italy from practically every airport, this can be a great destination even if you are on a budget.
Greece
Greece is another Mediterranean country that provides fun for the entire family. Much like Italy, it offers plenty of history and culture, as well as some of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
It’s an incredibly popular tourist spot for families with kids young and older. Even the more decadent islands can be a great family destination, as there is always a hidden cove that is suitable for younger visitors. While in Greece, you can take some time to learn more about ancient history and visit sites like Delphi and the Acropolis. Or, you can go swimming, snorkeling, and diving, truly relaxing and rejuvenating.
Corfu, Crete, and Rhodes are all great options for families. They provide that ideal combination of culture and seaside fun that keeps the kids entertained and educated at the same time.
Croatia
Another beach destination you should consider for 2024 is Croatia. It also boasts some of the most magnificent beaches in Europe, and it’s a great family destination, even for families with younger children. If you are up for a road trip and your kids are slightly older, the Croatian coast will be the perfect destination. You can hop in a car and stop wherever you fancy. The only issue will be that you will want to stop every couple of minutes to check out yet another delightful beach.
Some of the cities you should definitely aim to visit are Dubrovnik, Split, Rijeka, and Pula. You should also make it a point to travel to some of the islands, like Krk, Cres, and Pag, where you can enjoy the local delicacies and some of the most quaint beaches.
Bali
If you would like to take the kids to more of an exotic destination, you should definitely consider Bali. Yes, it’s pretty far away, but it’s a great destination for all the family. There are things you can do on every corner, some of which you can’t possibly do anywhere else. For example, you can go to the Monkey Forest and see some of these magnificent animals up close. You can visit the elephant park or go riding. You can meet the dolphins, or you can take ceramics or pottery classes.
Bali is also a great place to teach your kids about spirituality, cultural diversity, and nature. The locals will be happy to chip in, too, and your kids can be exposed to all kinds of experiences and worldviews on their holiday.
Wrapping up
Has any of these family-friendly destinations caught your eye? Do you think the kids would love to see them? You can also let the kids help you choose where you should go. Tell them a bit about each destination and what you can do there, and see which one strikes their fancy the most.
