Traveling might have died down in recent months thanks to the pandemic, but that doesn’t mean you can’t daydream and plan your future vacations. It’s the middle of summer and people are dreaming of warm, sunny places where they can go and relax, have some fun and just enjoy life. Well, all of that sounds very much like Florida, so here are a few must-visit places that you should put on your list when visiting there:

Naples

Italy isn’t the only one who has a pretty city with this name. Naples, Florida is a magical town, perfect for weekend getaways and romantic walks on the beach. It’s located on Paradise Coast and it can be absolutely breathtaking during sunset. But it’s not all pretty beaches and long walks – there’s plenty of activities to do, including zoos, golf courses, botanical gardens and so much more!

Destin

How about a pretty coastal town where time comes to take a break? A fishing village in the Gulf of Mexico that will have you wishing you lived in a rom-com. It’s the perfect place for a vacation as you can find out all you need to know and set everything up before arriving, so the moment you arrive, you can have a table booked with the freshest, most delicious seafood, a boat ride in the morning and waking up with a beautiful view.

Sanibel Island

How does a relaxing, family-oriented vacation island sound? If you think you might like that, then check out Sanibel Island. It’s quiet and quaint, reasonably priced, and literally the ideal spot for a summer family vacation near the sand. The sandy beaches are filled with seashells that the kids can collect and explore while the parents lay back and soak up some sun with the sound of seagulls in the distance.

Everglades National Park

Florida has a bit of a reputation for wild nature and big animals with even bigger teeth. You guessed it – we’re talking about gators. But if you’re more a fan of panthers or manatees – you can find those as well! Go in the first and last quarter of the year to catch the dry season with fewer mosquitoes. If you’re not experienced, make sure you go with a guide, because you do not want to be caught alone and unprepared with an alligator!

Orlando

Let’s bring it back from nature to the land of pure entertainment. If you’re looking to peruse theme parks and enjoy adrenaline highs – Orlando is the place to be. Besides the obvious destination: Disney World, there are other attractions worth your attention, so take a look around. You can also enjoy some amazing fine dining and fireworks shows, so if you want to be in a busy, buzzing city – Orlando is your spot.

Tampa

If you’re looking for something that is in between nature- and entertainment-oriented vacation, you should give Tampa a go. It’s a great spot to combine both because it features entertainment parks centered around wildlife, aquariums, and museums tailored to children. You can also teach them a lot about Columbian history, which is always a plus if you want to make the trip a bit more educational.

St. Augustine

Talking about the rich history, how about the oldest city in the US? It is brimming with historical attractions and is the perfect destination for a visit from anyone who wants to learn more about US history. There are some amazing tours you can take to learn more from local experts who will spill all the tea about the events that took place there.

Tallahassee

This list simply wouldn’t be complete without the state’s capital, Tallahassee. It’s a great mix of history, urban life, and nature, so if you’re not sure exactly what you’d like to enjoy, it’s a great place to start. The museums will offer great insight into the history of the state, the various entertainment, dining, and nightlife options will keep you busy and entertained and the stunning rolling hills around it will give you all the tranquillity you need. You can also see some examples of old crafts that have been practiced for centuries – like candy making!

So if you’re planning on visiting Florida for the first time soon, or if you are a Florida native who’s just now taken an interest in exploring everything she has to offer – all of these places are guaranteed to provide a good time and an unforgettable experience. If you’re traveling during these times, please stay safe and perhaps stick to beaches with no crowds and places where population density is regulated.
