Do you know how to create a fun family vacation while in quarantine?

While your vacation plans may have been put on hold because of the ongoing COVID-19 global health crisis, that does not mean that you cannot still create a fun experience for your family. Here are five ideas on how you can create a fun family vacation while in quarantine.
Rent a beach house
Depending on the area that you live, you may still be able to rent a beach house and get away from the daily grind and anxiety of being in quarantine. If you live near a coastal area, this is an easy and memorable trip idea. By picking a beach that is off the beaten path, it will also be easier to maintain social distancing protocols. Your family will greatly benefit from the feel of the sand between your toes and the smell of the salty ocean air. Be sure to bring some beach games such as frisbees, kites, and sandcastle tools so that your kids are kept busy in the sand and the surf.
Go camping
There has never been a better time to escape the city and head out to the desolate wilderness for a camping adventure. If you do not own your own equipment, it is easy to rent camping gear from a reputable vendor. Once you have your camp set up, you will enjoy connecting with Mother Nature without worrying about breaking any social distancing rules. You can involve the family in the planning by putting one person in charge of every meal and activity for the day. This will also build excitement as the epic family camping trip approaches.
Play a staycation
While your staycation plans may be limited with many places in your area still closed because of the quarantine, it is possible to devise a true staycation in the comfort of your own home. You can make this extra special by indulging in activities and treats that are not usual in your home. Let each kid pick a day to plan during your staycation, creating the list of activities and the menu for the day. For example, maybe you want a day to stay in your pajamas and have a movie marathon complete with popcorn and loads of candy? Or plan a baseball theme day with a friendly game of family Wiffleball followed by hot dogs on the grill and Cracker Jack and cotton candy for dessert. There is no limit to the fun that you can have when you are ready to think outside of the box.
Create a virtual museum tour
You may not be able to take a flight to Paris to see the Mona Lisa in person, but you can certainly create a virtual museum tour for your family. Many museums are opening up their galleries online so that people from all over the world can find joy browsing their favorite pieces of art. You can create a theme for each museum that you visit. For example, while browsing some of the most famous pieces in Florence, you can prepare a full Italian feast to accompany your online tour. While this is no substitute for seeing these famous works of art in person, you will still provide an educational and entertaining experience for the whole family.
Enjoy a spa day
Relax and rejuvenate with a home spa day. This is an especially good idea if you have little girls who love the idea of being treated like a fancy lady. Set up different stations for pedicures, manicures, facials, or even scalp massages. Be sure to make a pitcher of spa water with lemon or cucumber for your family to enjoy during all of the treatments. Complete the theme by making miniature tea sandwiches to nosh on along with treats such as strawberries and cream or scones and lemon curd. You may also consider turning on soft music and lighting candles to create an all-encompassing mood for your getaway from reality.
With a little creativity and planning, it is still possible to enjoy a family vacation during this challenging season in life. You will surely make memories to last a lifetime, making this a vacation that nobody will ever forget.
