One of the hardest things about being a parent is trying to figure out what to cook for the ones you love. Kids are extremely picky eaters and the majority of them don’t like eating vegetables.

There are different ways parents convince their kids to eat their veggies. Some bribe them with toys or more TV time, while others tell them things like, “You’re lucky we have food on the table.” This is understandable, really, as some kids don’t have the luxury of eating three times a day, and they have to rely on the kindness of donations from charities that also provide them with the chance of obtaining a full education, especially from the high profile ones that are spreading the word on social media and work tirelessly to promote their campaigns. While some of the time these strategies work, most of the time, they fail.

Luckily, there are easy ways to make them enjoy eating nutritious food without forcing them to do so, and that is by preparing stuff that kids love. If you’re having a hard time feeding your children something healthy, maybe you need to be a little creative in the kitchen. Here are 5 dishes that are certified kid-friendly since they’ve been made with the help of, you’ve guessed it, kids! Click on the links to see the recipes on how to make them.

Pizza Quesadillas

People of all ages love pizza. You can’t go wrong with pizza quesadillas and by making them right, you’ll be feeding your kids veggies without the hassles. To make the sauce, all you need is some pepperoni slices, butter, parmesan cheese, pizza sauce, and some assorted vegetables like carrots and broccoli. Make sure to chop the vegetables thinly and place evenly across the bread.

Pepperoni Hotdish

Pasta is a good meal for kids. Since they’re active and have plenty of activities to undertake at school, pasta can give them the nutrition and energy they need to fulfill their daily routine. You can add things like garlic and onions to the spaghetti sauce, which are great for battling infections and boosting immunity. Make sure to sprinkle lots of Mozzarella cheese on the pizza to encourage your children to eat the pasta and make it extra tasty.

Spinach Quiche

This is a very good snack to feed your kids. Not only is it filled with spinach but it also has olive oil and garlic in it, which are extremely healthy. This is very easy to make and with lots of Romano and Mozzarella cheese, kids will struggle to say no to this treat!

Kale Chips

Who would’ve thought that kale could actually become be put into making chips? And they’re very easy to make! All you have to do is get a bunch of kale, drizzle olive oil on them, and put them in the oven to bake. Kale is amazing for its digestive properties because it has lots of fiber content. It’s also filled with nutrients, folate, and vitamins to help kids stay strong and healthy.

Baked sweet potato fries

Instead of frying potatoes, bake your kids sweet potato fries. They’re healthier and sweet so kids will appreciate them. Like the aforementioned kale chips, they’re very easy to make. All you need is sweet potatoes, oil, taco seasoning, and some cayenne pepper if your kids like a little bit of spice in their food.

Make sure to feed your kids healthy meals. Instant food items sold in groceries are always filled with sugar and other unhealthy ingredients so make sure that at home, they’re getting the proper food that they need, and always remember to prepare it with love.

  1. Thankfully I only have one picky eater of four at the moment, but they all went through phases, some long, some very short. I love the pizza quesadilla idea. I’m not sure if I can get the ingredients here in Japan, but I will try. 🙂

  2. I love sweet potato anything! 🙂

Thankfully, my niece and nephew are quite good with their eating, especially vegetables. I think it helps if you let kids choose their own fruit and vegetables when out shopping… I know my niece loves to choose things from the fruit & veg stall at the market.
