What do you eat when you are not really hungry? What do you think about grissini, the Italian breadstick?

Sometimes, when I am full of sweets and heavy food, I just want to eat something light and lightly spiced. It’s much better if it can be made easily… In such a situation the best solution is the Italian breadstick, namely the grissini.

Grissini made with a simple pizza crust-like dough. It is crisp all the way and can be flavored with various herbs (rosemary, thyme, oregano), seeds (poppy, cumin or sesame seeds), and spices (form example: the classic salt-and-pepper flavoring) or you can add cheese to the dough too.

The best thing about grissini is that the breadsticks are meant to have a rustic look, so you don’t have to worry about making them look perfect. And this is a very important consideration for me, a mom of five kids.  The length of the breadsticks will be determined by how large your oven is. If you have a wide one you can make very long grissini.
